Hello again

About a month ago I decided to move my Wordpress site to Squarespace. I didn’t realize that I would have only a limited amount of time to download all of my blog posts. Unfortunately I waited too long and could no longer access my Wordpress account. My blog address just gave me a 404 error. Cue faster heartbeat: I thought I had lost everything. :(

Then I remembered the Wayback Machine. I went to the site, entered my blog info, and waited… Luckily, the Machine had the most recently stored version of my site. I grabbed all of the available text and pasted it into a Word document. I held my breath and scrolled… Everything was there. Whew!

I’m going to add all of my old posts here, probably one per week until they’re all up. I was hoping I could put the original publication date into each post, but Squarespace apparently doesn’t allow backdating. Instead, I’ll put the original publication date at the top of each post. They range from 13 June, 2018 - 28 September, 2023.

Writing news: I am working on a bunch of new pieces, including:

• An essay about photosynthesis

• Several personal essays about culture (being deliberately vague, here)

• A book-length creative memoir project that might turn into two books.

I want to get this site online as soon as possible, so I’ll stop there. The last page (for now) that I need to build is my writing portfolio. Stay tuned!
